Happy Pi Day: Numberphiles, Calculating Pi with Pies
Posted by Youtube user: numberphile
I just happened to have stumbled upon this YT channel the other day, and wound up spending nearly 3 hours on it. Obviously, I enjoy it. Since today is Pi Day (3.14), thought I'd share this one. But there's loads more interesting things to be seen on the channel, including nine more videos about Pi itself, and Dragon Curves, and base 12, and lots of other fun math-y things. Even if you're not a math geek, it's more fun than you probably think it sounds.

I don't know why this has been sitting my bookmarks for all this time without being posted, but it has. It's amazing, and you should watch it now.
That is all.

Geek and Sundry: Table Top
Posted by YouTube user: geekandsundry
Right around the same time ( it might even have been the same day) Chris Hardwick was launching his Nerdist channel on YouTube (which I mentioned here previously and you should be subscribed to now) Felicia Day was launching her own channel called, Geek and Sundry. Now, Given her popularity, and the fact that You're on a site like this, I'm going to assume you already know who Felicia Day is. If not, well, go to the channel. Once there, you'll find The Guild, Felicia's "Flog", and a variety of other shows, including, what has quickly become one of my new favorite things: Table Top with Wil Wheaton, where Wil coaches a four geek-celeb panel through a different table top game each episode.
Now I know what you're thinking, and I didn't think watching a handful of geeks play boardgames sounded particularly exciting either, and was fully set to be all snarky and judgmental about it. But after watching it, I thought they did an exceptional job of making doing exactly that, not just entertaining, but more entertaining than it should be. So much so, that I think that even if you never liked boardgames or RPG's, you'll still find it entertaining. In fact, I've actually watched both of the episodes currently out, twice now. Which, I realize as I type that sentence, is an excellent indication of why my dating life so lively. But I really don't see how that's relevant to anything, and I resent you for pointing it out. Now go watch the show, and stop judging me.
Jerks.

Flying Fire-breathing Ponies in The Land of Skyrim
So obviously, I've been slacking on my blogging duties again. But this time, I have a really good excuse. Ya see, last week, I discovered the joy of Skyrim! Okay... So, maybe it isn't a great excuse. But it has been fun!
Now, I realize that this game has been out for some time. Hell, it's already managed to spawn a now dead meme, with the whole, "arrow to the knee" thing. So I'm not gonna bother reviewing it as though it's some brand new thing you've never heard of. But, since purchasing it last week for my PS3, I have become hopelessly addicted, though I am thankful that the dragons don't actually look like my Little Ponies. But after a week of playing , I think I've had my fun now. And I promise to do more blogging than dragon slaying this weekend.
Maybe...
I'll try... Seriously.
WHAT!?
Don't look at me like that, I will!
Jerks.

Apocalypse Later, Surf Now, An Apocalyptic Surf Music Video
Surfing, doesn't even come close to making the list of things I've EVER had an interest in. I hate the beach, I don't swim, I don't like the sun. But hey, throw in an aerial battle of apocalyptic proportions, and suddenly, you have my interest. Love this.
I still don't care about the surfing thought.
