Time lapse video of the Perseid Meteor Shower and the galactic core of the Milky Way as seen from Joshua Tree National Park. Shot between August 12 and August 15, 2010
The above video was made by splicing together two nights worth of footage taken at Joshua Tree National Park in California. If you didn't try to view the shower this year it seems to have been less than spectacular viewing for most who tried, myself included. So while there's not a particularly massive amount of shooting stars and there's definitely a few planes in the mix, just watching the rotation of the stars themselves over the course of a night is pretty cool.
